The device is designed for use in explosive atmospheres. It is intended for operation in underground mining environments as well as surface areas in mines that are at risk of gas or dust explosions. Group I, Category M1 and M2 devices are intended for mining operations that are exposed to methane and coal dust, providing a high level of safety with two independent protection mechanisms. The device will shut off in the event of an explosive atmosphere.
