MM-4XRS
A methanometer is an essential device for measuring methane concentration in the air, particularly in industries such as gas and mining, where controlling methane levels is crucial for safety. Methanometers are equipped with detectors that allow for precise measurement of even small amounts of methane, enabling quick reactions in potentially hazardous situations. This device allows operators to monitor the work environment and take appropriate action in case elevated methane levels are detected, minimizing the risk of threats related to this gas.

Description
The MM-4XRS Methanometer is designed to monitor and control in challenging industrial environments. Its robust construction, high accuracy, and ability to operate in explosive atmospheres make it suitable for industries such as manufacturing, chemicals, and oil. This advanced device is specially designed to meet stringent industrial requirements, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and the ability to work in harsh conditions, including areas with explosive atmospheres.
Features
Durable Enclosure: The methanometer is built with a durable housing resistant to mechanical damage, corrosion, and environmental factors.
High Measurement Accuracy: Provides precise measurements essential for ensuring product quality, worker safety, and optimizing production processes.
Compact Size: Despite its robust construction, the methanometer is smaller compared to other sensors, facilitating installation in spaces with limited room.
Explosive Atmosphere Compatibility: Certified for use in areas with a persistent explosive atmosphere, ensuring safety in locations where flammable gases, liquids, or dust pose a continuous risk.
Specification
Configurable Two-State Output.
Dual-Color LED Indicator: Signaling warning and alarm thresholds.
Communication: Isolated RS485 (Modbus RTU).
Optical Signalization: Two configurable signaling thresholds: Warning threshold; Alarm threshold.
Explosion Protection Marking: I M1 Ex ia I Ma/II 1G Exia IIB T4 Ga for D**-XRS sensors; I M1 Ex ia I Ma/II 1G Exia (CH4) Ga for MM4-XRS sensor.
Calibration and Configuration: Calibration of the detector and certain configuration settings are done using the wired keyboard KB-1TM (not included in the standard equipment). Full configuration capabilities are provided by the monitoring and control system.
Advantages
Durable Housing: This industrial sensor features a robust enclosure that resists mechanical damage, corrosion, and environmental conditions. This solid construction ensures reliable operation in harsh industrial environments where chemicals or high humidity can damage other sensors.
High Measurement Accuracy: The sensor is known for its excellent accuracy, which is crucial in industries where precision is key for ensuring product quality, worker safety, and optimizing production processes.
Compact Size: Despite its rugged design, the sensor is relatively small compared to other devices of this type. Its compact size makes it easy to install and integrate in various locations within the industrial plant, particularly in space-constrained areas.
Explosive Atmosphere Operation: One of the key features of this sensor is its certification for use in zones with a persistent explosive atmosphere. This allows it to operate safely in areas where flammable gases, liquids, or dust pose a continuous risk, contributing to improved workplace safety and minimizing explosion hazards.
Ex Zone
The device is adapted for operation in explosive atmospheres. It is intended for use underground in mines and in surface areas of mines where the risk of gas or dust explosions exists.
Group I, Category M1: Designed for mining facilities exposed to methane and coal dust hazards, providing a very high level of safety with two independent safety measures.
Group II, Category 1G: Designed to function according to movement parameters set by the manufacturer, ensuring a very high level of safety, even in the case of rare failures. If one safety measure fails, at least one other ensures the required level of protection, or this level is ensured in the event of two independent failures.
